I have tried a number of SEO tools like SEOMOZ <\/a>, Market Samurai<\/a> , SEO Power Suite<\/a> and Senuke<\/a> \u00a0and have found either their complexity or cost to be an issue. <\/span><\/p>\n The more advanced SEO tools are generally only available for an ongoing monthly fee and for the average website owner it’s more difficult to justify when the alternative would be to buy traffic. I currently use a number of free tools for SEO and at first glance traffic travis looks as if it may simplify and consolidate my website SEO optimization.<\/span> You may be surprised to hear that Traffic Travis co-founder Mark Ling tells me that there have been over 250,000 downloads of this free tool to date and that a Cnet Editors review describes it as impressive and highly recommended.<\/span> <\/p>\n My first impressions have been favorable because of the value this free product includes with ongoing support and training emails.<\/span><\/p>\n I found Traffic Travis to be very user friendly to install and to use. The PRO version currently costs $97 which is a onetime fee.<\/span><\/p>\n My initial impression is that it fills a data availability gap that’s not covered by other SEO tools and which is immediately apparent to both expert and non expert users alike.<\/span><\/p>\n The main Dashboard menu screen is displayed when Traffic Travis is opened and includes My Site, Research, SEO and PPC tabbed window menus.<\/span><\/p>\n Easy to understand video tutorials pop open when each tab is selected. These can be disabled and accessed when required form the help drop down menu.<\/span><\/p>\n A new website project can be created by selecting the top right “Create new project” drop down option which opens a window where a project name, site URL, sitemap web page category keywords are added and search engine options can be selected.<\/span><\/p>\n On saving a new project Traffic Travis displays Dashboard, Site Check, Keywords, Search Engine Rankings, Top 5 Ranked Keywords, Backlinks and Top 5 Backlinks information.<\/span><\/p>\n The valuable information is immediately viewable with Traffic Potential under the Keywords heading combined with page, backlink ranks authority and page warnings all laid out in a clearly understandable format.<\/span><\/p>\n Basically this a top down view of website ranking and traffic potential with the ability to drill down into details using the My Site, Research and SEO menu features.<\/span><\/p>\n A bonus is the PPC analytic feature. However the website ranking comparisons is what sets this free version apart form other tools where it generally has to be paid for.<\/span> There are feature limitations with the free version with only five active projects that can be accessed. Also limits the number of listed keyword, displayed pages and useful report features that are only available with the PRO version.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n Some of the page warning information for me are a concern in that\u00a0 they are inconsistent with other SEO on page analysis tools.\u00a0 A fact that will be covered in this posts conclusions. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The free Traffic Travis provides users easy access a comprehensive array of website SEO\/visitor information and traffic optimization features. Information that would otherwise take a number of other tools, additional time and resources to obtain. Optimization that would likely take longer to achieve with other tools.<\/span><\/p>\n The “Traffic Potential” feature makes it easy to evaluate money category keywords.\u00a0 Page ranking and authority improvements are easier to achieve with the ranking and backlink comparison features.<\/span> <\/p>\n Traffic Travis uses Google Analytic data and users have to be registered with Google to provide Traffic Travis access to this data. Its free to register with Google.<\/span><\/p>\n The amount of data extracted from Google is significant, can hog local PC resources and can result in users being temporarily blocked (24 hours or less) from accessing Google Analytic resources.<\/span><\/p>\n These issues can be found with other SEO Tools that access Google Analytic data and analysis should be carried out selectively. Traffic Travis could improve this by adding\u00a0 selectable limits to the data being accessed.<\/span><\/p>\n Some basic category keyword selection knowledge, technical and marketing experience is advisable to be able to achieve the best results with this tool.<\/span> <\/p>\n WordPress site owners will find that the Slimstat website stats plugin is very useful for analyzing website visitors and where visitor traffic is coming from.<\/span><\/p>\n Slimstat also includes the category keywords being used by website visitors and details on http misdirect errors which negatively affect site traffic authority and ranking.<\/span><\/p>\n For newbie’s it well worth viewing the YouTube Market Samurai training videos which go through the basics of selecting a market niche and the website development\/marketing basics. Market Samuria has free trial period access to their tool which cost $149.\u00a0 It includes more website niche design marketing process information optimization and a more detailed graphics based analytics environment. A couple of tools I also use are the Firefox SiteMetrics SEO extension. This is a footer bar popup app which shows a displayed websites SEO metrics score and includes site category keywords and page link numbers<\/span><\/p>\n Also SEO Workers<\/a> has a free comprehensive on page SEO optimization assessment tool with more detailed analysis than you will find with in many other tools. <\/p>\n I have yet to decide if I will buy Traffic Travis Professional because I have not yet had the time to assess what value it provides me with over the free version.<\/span><\/p>\n Mark Ling tells me that version v4 provides the following: <\/span>\n<\/ul>\n <\/span>\n<\/ul>\n <\/span>\n<\/ul>\n <\/span>\n<\/ul>\n <\/span>\n<\/ul>\n <\/span>\n<\/ul>\n <\/span>\n<\/ul>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n I use Traffic Travis<\/strong> to generate a current comprehensive top down website centric ranking and authority status overview for my sites.<\/span><\/p>\n There is nothing that I have found that provides the same website SEO metrics as Traffic Travis in a single tab window display.<\/span><\/p>\n Having said that, search engine optimization analysis only provides interpretation of the available data and Google only provides a limited amount of detail about how it ranks websites and the provided search engine metrics are backward looking and not always accurate. <\/span><\/p>\n Therefore big issue with Traffic Travis is the accuracy of the data provided.\u00a0 Clearly the on page warnings are inconsistent with other on page authoritative SEO tools.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Traffic Travis is valuable because you can get a website\/web page daily update that provides an indication as to if rankings are being improved and feedback as how affective site SEO modification are.<\/span><\/p>\n At the end of the day is that not what SEO optimization all about?<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Best wishes,<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mark.<\/span> PS: Also check out my free CB Surge Tool<\/a> and blog post at: mark-jago.com<\/a>.<\/span>
